Philosophy
Alpha Plus is a casual collection of players who enjoy having fun, exploring, and socializing. We place higher value on the entertainment and interactions we share with each other than on loot and other temporal concerns. We believe that keeping a player in our community is more important than forcing our playstyle on others. For this reason, we have no level restrictions and if you want to take a character elsewhere for some hardcore PvP or raiding, go for it! We only ask that you keep at least one of your other characters with us so that we don't lose the opportunity to play alongside you.
We will use our forums to gather input and suggestions from our members on all manner of topics, including Tabard Design, Website Logo, and most anything else that comes up. Of course, all final decisions will rest with the World Controller (Guildmaster)
Background Information
Alpha Plus' guild and rank names were inspired by Aldous Huxley's novel Brave New World
Ranks
Those of you unfamiliar with Brave New World may find the rank naming confusing. Below is a list of our guild ranks and what they mean.
As you should see, rank is mostly a reflection of the quality of the player, not a means of authority.
- Epsilon
The starting rank of the guild. This is where you will find yourself immediately after joining the guild. Don't expect to stay here for long, maybe a couple of weeks. There is no real "trial period" for Alpha Plus, but if you don't say much, we probably won't notice to promote you. - Delta
One step up from Epsilon. If you're really stuck on the idea, consider this being a full-fledged member. - Gamma
Those who have been with us for a while. Gammas and higher have the ability to edit their public player note in the Guild UI. Set it to something amusing or useful! - Beta
The most common rank. Most of our number will end up at Beta, the highest non-officer rank. - Alpha
The officers of the guild. Alphas are those that have helped make the guild as fun and communal as possible. We do restrict players to one Alpha character at a time, to prevent rank bloat. If you want to switch which of your characters is your Alpha, just ask the World Controller. - Alpha Plus
The cream of the crop. Alpha Plus is reserved for those who are respected and liked throughout the guild. These are the people that make you laugh, and make every group just that much more amusing. When Alpha Plus promotions are made, it should come as no surprise to the rest of the guild. - World Controller
